#9_Kak Bhagau -Animation final execution

Image
I was interested to work with dry pastels as a medium through colouring frame by frame was tedious process but it came as a treat to colour the animation by hand. The main idea was to achieve the feeling of liveliness in the animation with the textural qualities of the medium . #8 _ Hichki - College Animation Short film

Hichki - An animation shot     Image from project report            Story board shots  Abstract: This project delves into the vivid and boundless imagination of a child's mind—a world where the lines between reality and fantasy are beautifully blurred. Children often navigate life with a perspective unfiltered by logic, which makes their experiences deeply imaginative, yet sometimes overwhelming. Their creativity, while enchanting, can also give rise to irrational fears and anxieties. Though often short-lived, these fears can feel very real and unsettling to the child. As they grow, children gradually develop a clearer understanding of cause and effect, and begin to distinguish between what is real and what is imagined. Their fears are shaped by a mix of nervous temperament, past experiences, and a wildly active imagination. This film follows the story of a young girl whose guilt and fear—sparked by sec...

#7_ Art works created for animation short

Kak Bhagau - A short animation film This short animated film explores the unnatural world of spirits and their effects on human beings. In this story, a supernatural being returns to deliver an important message about life. Working on this film was a joyful experience. I chose to use dry pastels, which I believe perfectly suit the look and feel of the film, especially as it is set in a rural landscape. This was my first animated film and marked the beginning of my career as an animation film designer. The film has a duration of 3 minutes and 17 seconds. My inspiration for using dry pastels came from  "La Maison en Petits Cubes"  by Kunio Kato. Spirits exist in our literature in both fictional and non-fictional forms, and are therefore divided into two categories of thought and belief systems. Through my film, I am not conveying any message about their existence or non-existence, but rather showcasing how the fluidity of a person's thoughts takes him into an unnatural world—guided by the spirit of his own wife, who conveys a message of love for their only child. Study on Joseph Campbell: Joseph Campbell's readings helped in developing the story. His studies explore the theory that important myths from around the world—which have survived for th...
