    Cross hatching

This piece is one of my favorites, created during my second year of college. It was the first time I realized how patient yet restless I could be while working. Over a week, I studied still life objects, exploring their nature, colors, and forms to replicate them on paper. My focus was on realism, with the challenge of capturing the essence of objects through cross-hatching. Using precise 45-degree angles, this technique created a shaded effect that contrasted stroke depth and gradient length, adding depth and dimension.

    Winter in the Woods
    Pencil on Paper, A4 Sheet

During my first year at Art College, I was learning about different textures, and I’ve always been fascinated by the textures present in nature. This particular piece emerged after studying and observing the textures around me in the natural world.

It took shape on paper, inspired by the feeling of the harsh & cold winters of Delhi. I enjoyed sketching the textures, capturing the barren land and the surrounding environment.

At that point in my life, I had no idea I can be an Artist ! :)

    Sleeping beauty

Half imperial, Baby in pencil shading

While my nephew was sleeping, I made a quick sketch and later rendered it with shading. I loved seeing the peace and tranquility on his face, even though he gives his mother a hard time.

Still life in cross hatching, Half imperial sheet size
One of my favorite works . I done this in my second year of college in cross hatching .It was the first work where I came to know I am patient as much as unstable. I remember one thing that I really find it very boring to work in drapery part but still manages to complete it with the same passion.

Half imperial sheet, Portrait in Pencil

In college the Models used to sit and we have to take our positions around him so as to capture his expressions in which ever view we got.I still remember the students use to come as soon as possible to capture a nice seat with respect to the model other wise the whole day went in fighting for seats but was fun.I did this Portrait in second year. Most of the drawings in second year are in pencil, dry pastels,or oil pastels.

This illustration can tell the ongoing conflict in my mind while drawing. What better it could be then to illustrate your own feelings "out and loud".
