#10_Exploring Apophenia Through Drawing

Image
Exploring Apophenia Through Drawing All the illustrations were created as part of an engaging activity called  Apophenia —a psychological phenomenon where one perceives patterns, meanings, or connections in random or unrelated data. In the context of drawing, it becomes a playful and liberating exercise in imagination, where the mind is free to interpret shapes, scribbles, or marks in unexpected ways. Unlike traditional drawing with a defined goal or subject, this activity was more about spontaneous creativity and pure fun. I allowed myself to fill the page with a world of randomness—abstract lines, scattered textures, and spontaneous forms. From this chaos, certain images began to emerge organically. Some illustrations evolved into coherent, meaningful visuals with recognizable forms and narratives, while others remained delightfully ambiguous—visual stories that invite the viewer to interpret them in their own way. This process highlighted how powerful the human mind is in fin...

#9_Kak Bhagau -Animation final execution

Image
I was interested to work with dry pastels as a medium through colouring frame by frame was tedious process but it came as a treat to colour the animation by hand. The main idea was to achieve the feeling of liveliness in the animation with the textural qualities of the medium . #8 _ Hichki - College Animation Short film

Hichki - An animation shot     Image from project report            Story board shots  Abstract: This project delves into the vivid and boundless imagination of a child's mind—a world where the lines between reality and fantasy are beautifully blurred. Children often navigate life with a perspective unfiltered by logic, which makes their experiences deeply imaginative, yet sometimes overwhelming. Their creativity, while enchanting, can also give rise to irrational fears and anxieties. Though often short-lived, these fears can feel very real and unsettling to the child. As they grow, children gradually develop a clearer understanding of cause and effect, and begin to distinguish between what is real and what is imagined. Their fears are shaped by a mix of nervous temperament, past experiences, and a wildly active imagination. This film follows the story of a young girl whose guilt and fear—sparked by sec...

#7_ Art works created for animation short

Image
Kak Bhagau - A short animation film This short animated film explores the unnatural world of spirits and their effects on human beings. In this story, a supernatural being returns to deliver an important message about life. Working on this film was a joyful experience. I chose to use dry pastels, which I believe perfectly suit the look and feel of the film, especially as it is set in a rural landscape. This was my first animated film and marked the beginning of my career as an animation film designer. The film has a duration of 3 minutes and 17 seconds. My inspiration for using dry pastels came from  "La Maison en Petits Cubes"  by Kunio Kato. Design degree show Website link https://www.idc.iitb.ac.in/projects/student/batch-09-11/projects/an/geetanjali/p3/index.html   Abstract: The idea of the project is to explore  "the unnatural world of spirits and its effect on human beings."  Spirits here refer to  "supernatural beings"  that come to life to pass an important message of love and care. Spirits exist in our literature in both fictional and non-fictional forms, and are therefore divided into two categories of thought and belief systems. Through my film, I am not conveying any message about their existence or non-existence, but rather showcasing how the fluidity of a person's thoughts takes him into an unnatural world—guided by the spirit of his own wife, who conveys a message of love for their only child. Study on Joseph Campbell: Joseph Campbell's readings helped in developing the story. His studies explore the theory that important myths from around the world—which have survived for th...
